World Fisheries Day at Champu Khangpok

Loktak fishers observed the annual World Fisheries Day at Champu Khangpok Floating Island Village with release of fingerlings on 21st November 2023. Fingerlings sponsored by State Fisheries Department, Manipur.
Ishok village was one of the hundreds of villages affected by construction of Ithai barrage at the confluence of the Manipur River, the Khuga River and the Ungamel channel in 1983, near Ithai village in Bishnupur. PRDA runs a ‘People credit and thrift project’ (PCTP).
